OUTPOST operates a Membership scheme which is open to anyone to join. Membership costs £20 per year or a day’s invigilation can be provided in lieu of payment. Members are encouraged to submit material to the members’ archive, and to be considered for various artists opportunities. The membership provides a critical network for a community in and beyond Norwich, who in turn create a diverse, informed, and engaged gallery audience. The gallery is run by a Steering Committee of up to eight members, with a limit of two years service.
OUTPOST was founded in November 2004 and receives support from Arts Council England.
An OUTPOST Member may:
• Submit documentation of their work to the Members Archive and be considered for exhibition opportunities.
• Be eligible for open submission opportunities such as the annual Members' Show and Open Film.
• Nominate themselves for election to the steering committee which has a maximum of eight persons.
• Invigilate exhibitions and receive £20 expenses per day.
• Receive communications, including details of exhibitions, events and opportunities.
All OUTPOST members are entitled to submit details and documentation of their practice to the Members' Archive. The Members' Archive is used regularly by the OUTPOST Steering Committee, as well as independent curators and galleries, for various projects. It is recommended that members update their archive regularly.
