OUTPOST Gallery

  • OUTPOST gallery is open from 12pm - 6pm every Thursday to Sunday when an exhibition is on. Appointments out of opening hours are available on request.

    The gallery has step-free access via an access ramp. A gender neutral toilet is on site, with step access only.

    OUTPOST studios are open by appointment only.

  • OUTPOST is a registered charity and adheres to a strict schedule of programming decided by the committee.

    OUTPOST doesn't hire out any of its spaces.

    We are not a commercial gallery and don’t have a selection of artwork for sale on site but we do have editions, merchandise and artworks for sale through our website.

OUTPOST Membership

  • The charity operates a membership scheme which is open to anyone, anywhere to join.

    An OUTPOST membership is £25 per year. Membership subscriptions form an essential part of our budget, helping us to continue putting on the best quality events and exhibitions.

  • Members are encouraged to apply for the annual members show, the 3 fully funded members residencies per year, and other opportunities which are only open for members to apply to. 

    The annual Members’ Show is a vital part of OUTPOST’s programme. Each year, we invite a new contemporary artist to select and curate the show, giving members the opportunity to exhibit in the gallery– it is a great opportunity for emerging artists to have their work seen. Members and their websites are featured on the OUTPOST website and have the opportunity for their activity to be published in mailouts. Members receive 15% off any edition purchase.

  • OUTPOST studios is an artist-run studio complex providing affordable spaces for artists and practitioners. Since its founding in 2010, OUTPOST studios has established itself as one of the largest studio providers in the East of England. OUTPOST studios are based in Gildengate House, Anglia Square, where it is currently occupied by more than 80 artists.

    Studio applications are open but please expect a waiting list. It can take up to 3 months for your application to be reviewed by the committee. Please apply via the Studio Application form on our website. For all studio related enquiries please email studios@norwichoutpost.org,

  • That’s great! There are lots of different ways you can get involved with OUTPOST.

    We would love to meet you - joining us for our openings is a great way to meet the exhibiting artists and the steering committee. Sign up to our mailing list at the bottom of this page to stay in touch and find out when our next opening is.

    OUTPOST is always looking for invigilators and encourages anyone who is interested to get in touch. OUTPOST offers up to £20 for expenses per day of invigilation. As well as keeping the gallery open for a day, invigilators also have the opportunity to get involved with various jobs in and around the gallery and gain an insight into the inner workings of running a contemporary art space. Please apply on the OUTPOST Invigilators Expression of Interest form on our website.

    The Steering Committee are a voluntary group of up to eight members who run the artistic activity at OUTPOST Gallery and OUTPOST Studios. The Steering Committee have a limit of two years of service. Individuals will be asked to shadow for a period of 3-6 months and if successful, will be invited to join as a member of the Steering Committee. If you are interested in joining OUTPOST’s Steering Committee, please apply on the OUTPOST Steering Committee Expression of Interest form on our website.
