For their project at Kettle’s Yard, OUTPOST will showcase the work of artists from its road membership in a curated exhibition that will illustrate their varied artistic practices. Ian Giles will stage a new participatory performance in the unique surroundings of Kettle’s Yard house, while Jack Brindley who was part of Bloomberg New Contemporaries in 2012, will be producing a major clay wall painting and installation in the gallery. Gemma Melton will create a new work for the courtyard outside the gallery entrance.

On 16 March a lively panel discussion will examine what support is currently on offer to artists living and working in the Eastern region, and whether enough is being done to encourage the production of exciting, innovative contemporary art. Andrew Nairne, director of Kettle’s Yard will be joined by Amy Botfield, Arts Council England and members of OUTPOST’s steering committee along with its artists to debate the issues. Members will be invited to contribute to the conversation both in persona and online through a live stream and social media.
