XSexcentenary, Do You See Me?

Saturday 26 January, 10:30am - 4pm.

A free workshop with XSexcentenary produced with Holly Knox Yeoman for women who identify as older (50+). Participants joined members of female performance collective XSexcentenary for a workshop exploring ways to overcome social conditioning and claim visibility. The workshop focused on sharing life experience and bonding exercises, which informed an end-action at Gentlemen's Walk in central Norwich.

WE ARE XSEXCENTENARY
WE ARE OLD
WE ARE TIRED OF BEING INVISIBLE. DO YOU SEE ME?
WE ARE TIRED OF LIMITS
WE ARE TIRED OF SEEING IMAGES OF WOMEN THAT DO NOT LOOK LIKE US

WE ARE TIRED OF SOCIETY’S OBSESSION WITH YOUTH
WE ACCEPT OUR AGEING BODIES, OUR GREY HAIR, OUR WRINKLES, OUR LIVED-IN FRAMES
WE DEMAND YOU STOP SELLING US TORTUOUS DEVICES, DEFORMING TREATMENTS AND TOXIC COSMETICS
WE ARE TIRED OF BEING TRIVIALISED
WE ARE NOT DEAD YET.
